Welcome to UNITEN Kampus Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah (KSHAS) in Bandar Muadzam Shah, Rompin, Pahang. The campus is a branch campus of UNITEN focusing on business management and accounting fields. The campus hosted College of Business Management and Accountancy (COBA), which offers foundation, diploma and bachelor programmes. Research postgraduate programmes are also offered in conjunction with the College of Graduate Studies (COGS).

The campus has successfully graduated more than 7,600 graduates since its inception in 2001. The graduates have been well accepted by the industries including large multinational corporations with 97% gain employment within 6 months of completing their studies. Currently the campus’ student enrolment is almost 4,000 students. The campus is surrounded by large green areas with fresh air, free from city pollution. Coupled with modern, state of the art facilities, up-to-date libraries, Wi-Fi Campus, abundant sports and recreational facilities, fully boarded accommodation, the campus offers ideal environment for very conducive learning experience. The academic programs are designed to include various projects, presentations, group work, tutorials and assignments facilitated by qualified lecturers enabled students’ potentials to be developed and unleashed. The campus surrounding also provides ideal environment for students’ co-curricular activities and community services.

Campus History


The story of Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah campus began on 13 February 2001. With the rapid growth of its main campus, Universiti Tenaga Nasional has formed a branch campus in Bandar Muadzam Shah, located at the south-eastern part of the state of Pahang, which is the largest state in Peninsular Malaysia.

On 4 May 2001, Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad officially opened the branch campus. The sister campus was UNITEN’s way of reaching out to non-urban masses in providing highly sought after and quality tertiary education.

His Royal Highness The Sultan of Pahang, Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah, graciously proclaimed the campus as Kampus Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah (KSHAS) on 4 October 2003.


Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Campus offers Bachelor, Diploma and Foundation programs in Accounting, Finance, Marketing, Human Resource Management, Entrepreneur Development, and International Business Studies under the College of Business Administration.

KSHAS functions as a bridge to connect its students and the dwellers of Bandar Muadzam Shah. It also serves as a medium of community, economic and intellectual development for Bandar Muadzam Shah and the surrounding areas.

15 February 2001
Board of Directors approved the establishment of College of Business Management in Bandar Muadzam Shah, Pahang.

24 Jun 2001
220 new students enrolled at KSHAS, as its first ever intake.

4 May 2002
Official opening by YAB Tun Mahathir Mohamad, Prime Minister of Malaysia via video conferencing from Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur.

4 October 2003
Proclaimation of the campus as KAMPUS SULTAN HAJI AHMAD SHAH (KSHAS) by KDYMM Sultan of Pahang.

Until today, Kampus Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah remains as one of the most renowned centres in the region for business and accounting programmes. And the great story of KSHAS has just begun.

About Bandar Muadzam Shah

Bandar Muadzam Shah is a town in Rompin, southeast Pahang, Malaysia. It is about 80 km from the Segamat, about 140 km from Kuantan and about 214 km from Kuala Lumpur. It is a major stopover for travelers from northern Johore, Malacca and Negeri Sembilan who are going to East Coast.

Bandar Muadzam Shah was opened in 1979 by the Southeast Pahang Development Authority (DARA), or Lembaga Kemajuan Pahang Tenggara, as a privately managed township. On 15 June 1999, Muadzam Shah was officially handed over to the federal government and later relocated under the governance of Rompin District.

Muadzam Shah town is known for its education hub. There are many schools and education institutions including:

Primary Schools - Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Muadzam Shah, SK Bukit Ridan, SK Muadzam Jaya and Sekolah Agama Muadzam Shah (KAMUS)

Places Of Interest

Muadzam Shah is an important transit point for travelers going to tourist spot at the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia. One of them is Tanjung Gemuk, where ferry and boat service to Tioman Island, a popular tourist destination can be found.

Visits to orang asli villages are so popular with tourists that they have been included in the itinerary for the homestay programmes in Muadzam Shah. The orang asli (aborigines) in Kampong Kedaik, Kampong Tanam and a few other surrounding villages still carry out traditional activities like fishing in ponds, streams and making blow pipes. It is this basic and earthy lifestyle that attracts many people to experience living with them for a spell.

 


 

 

Although Bandar Muadzam Shah is a small developing town, it has a lot of public amenities, which is by far more numerous than the Rompin township, which it resides. It has its own hospital, police station, fire department station, petrol station, meteorogical station, bus station, hypermarket, post office, 3 clinics, and 5 commercial banks, road transport department and national registration department to cater for its dwellers.
