The department offers a high profile Computer Science undergraduate programme which leads to the award of Bachelor of Computer Science (Systems and Networking) (Hons), Bachelor of Computer Science (Software Engineering) (Hons) and Bachelor of Computer Science (Cyber Security) (Hons). All programmes are designed to be completed in three years with 120 credits hours that is crafted to follow the needs of the industries and based on current trends and demands.

Bachelor of Computer Science (Systems and Networking) (Honours)
This programme is designed to prepare students for professional careers by equipping them with the necessary knowledge and skills in the areas of communications and networking, operating systems, mobile and embedded technologies, computer security, artificial intelligence, and other related fields which are relevant to the needs of the fourth industrial revolution (IR4.0). Bachelor of Computer Science (Software Engineering) (Honours)
This programme is designed to prepare students to become software engineers who can plan, design, construct and maintain the software in various environment including stand-alone, web-based system, mobile application, cloud environment, and other platforms. In order to produce employable graduates, this programme is tailored with integrating selective syllabus from CTFL (Certified Tester Foundation Level) and CPRE-FL (Certified Professional for Requirements Engineering - Foundation Level) certification courses within its curriculum. This programme has strong professional bodies support for the above mentioned selective syllabus integration to align with the needs of the fourth industrial revolution (IR 4.0). The collaboration between universities and the industry is increasingly perceived as a way to enhance innovation through knowledge exchange therefore, this programme also provides opportunity for students to work with our industry partners for their final year projects.

Bachelor of Computer Science (Cyber Security) (Honours)
This programme emphasis on theoretical and practical applications in cybersecurity. The focus in cyber security means that students are not only trained to protect computer systems and networks, but they are also trained to extend the security protection to humans, who are the users of the computer systems. This holistic view of security would enable the students to become technically competent in various aspects of security, as well as giving them the right mindset to take up a leadership role in managing cybersecurity in an organization. Given that UNITEN is a subsidiary of Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB), students are also exposed to the niche domain knowledge of security for critical infrastructure, where the expertise in this area is highly sought after in the industry.

Bachelor in Information Systems (Business Analytics) (Honours)
The BIS (BA) Hons was specifically designed to equip students with the fundamental knowledge and skills in business information systems and general computing covering various economic sectors. Graduates from this programme apply their knowledge to successfully help organizations gain a competitive edge by designing and developing business solutions that meet organizational and management needs for an effective information and decision support system. Students are exposed to various projects and case studies that are aligned with the industry’s best practices, providing them insight to further develop their understanding on the latest technologies.

Bachelor in Information Technology (Graphics and Multimedia) (Honours)
The BIT (GM) Hons was designed to produce graduates that are informative, highly skilled and competitive in the field of computer graphics and multimedia technology systems. This particular programme provide technical training and allow students to research the applications of multimedia and the industries built around this technology. Students in this programme are expected to be proficient in working with computer programs, in which they can code their way to produce computer graphic systems that are widely used in various sectors including the education, research and entertainment industries. Our graduates can see themselves working with animation studios, game development companies, web design firms, and computer software companies. For example, they could become character riggers in computer game companies who develop custom skeleton systems for 3D animated characters that deform and animate according to specific parts of the character. Another example could see them working for a virtual reality (VR) company to produce immersive virtual experiences, develop custom tools for their real-time production processes and implement new techniques to solve daily production challenges.

Bachelor of Information Technology (Visual Media) (Hons)
The BIT (VM) Hons programme was designed with a focus on the broader study of all digital media applications, imparting the technical skills used in designing and editing digital media. These technical skills will enable graduates from this programme to become creative-contents developers. Throughout the coursework, students can expect to gain fundamental skills in drawing techniques, learn about communication concepts and the history of digital media, working with audio and editing videos as well as designing multimedia projects. The programme also explores graphic design concepts and techniques, skills for working with electronic images and applications for digital media in this age and beyond. Graduates finish the programme with the confidence of producing their own creative digital media work, whether that may be in the form of animation, visual effects, interactive media presentations or slick web applications that employ multiple layers of media. They may also see themselves pursuing entry-level careers in the digital media field, including film and video production, game design, website design, animation, visual effects and graphics design. Common job titles include becoming a digital artist, graphic designer, animator and web designer. They may also have the abilities and skills to work as managers or directors on creative digital projects as they gain more experience in the field.

The Department of Foundation and Diploma Studies (CCI-FDS) offers Foundation in Computer Science (FCS), Foundation in Information Technology (FIT) and Diploma in Computer Science (DCS) programs.
The foundation programs (FCS & FIT) offered by this department will equip the students with the necessary knowledge and skills to enable them to successfully pursue their respective degree programs. Among the subjects to be undertaken by foundation students are Introduction to Computing, Personal Productivity with Technology, Critical Thinking, Fundamental of Data & Information and other relevant subjects. Students will also be exposed to various out-of-class activities.

Foundation in Computer Science (FCS), Foundation in Information Technology (FIT) and Diploma in Computer Science (DCS)
Students successfully completed their FCS program will be able to enter into Bachelor of Computer Science program and those completed their FIT program will be able to enter into Bachelor of Information Technology program.
Students taking Diploma in Computer Science are exposed to a variety of subjects that enable them to either join the workforce or continue with the degree program, upon graduation. Among the subjects to be undertaken under this diploma program are Introduction to Programming, Malaysian Studies, Web Programming, Computer Organization, Multimedia Technologies, Software Engineering and other relevant subjects. Students will also be doing Final Year project, closely supervised by lecturers and be given the chance to experience working in the industry via Industrial Training program.
With such a wide and comprehensive coverage, student graduated with Diploma in Computer Science are given the freedom to choose any Bachelor degree programs (Science or IT), should they decided to purse with their studies.
The department is equipped with sufficient computer and physics laboratories. All the laboratories are air-conditioned and equipped with state-of-the-art equipment. Laboratory classes are conducted either by lecturers themselves or tutors, who are closely supervised by the lecturers.
